Laden with a very heavy Les Paul Gibson guitar and tired of rock, Bianca Jade decided to return to her classical roots and study opera at WAAPA. It was this experience that inspired her to seek more acoustic and intimate songs for her first solo outing, 2005’s ‘Taste It’.
She then headed to London and New York to promote it and was so thrilled with the response in the Big Apple she returned in 2006, playing in the famed Greenwich Village and Lower East Side.
Her latest offering ‘East 3rd Street’ is, as the title suggests, heavily influenced by her time there. The opening track made its place on the 2007 Kiss My WAMi compilation album, showing an artist confident in the bluesy-folk genre with a cruisy voice perfectly suited to the material.
The songstress has been touring and promoting the EP within Australia since its release including performances supporting The Black Sorrows and opening for KD Lang in 2008.
