Songstress Bianca Jade hails from Perth, Western Australia. With a multi octave voice & storytelling lyrics, her music combines a rustic blend of feminine folk, acoustic blues & country rock.
A few years ago I decided to put away my very heavy Les Paul Gibson guitar and the rock sounds I was writing in bands and go the road solo. With a background in classical voice I decided to study opera at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Three years of constant musical stimuli and a love for live performance inspired me to write material from a more acoustic and intimate perspective. In 2005 I released my first solo EP ‘Taste It’ featuring acoustic rock and folk tunes. Late 2005 I spent six weeks in New York City and London promoting the EP on my first overseas tour.
The success of this first tour took me back to the USA in mid 2006 where I concentrated my efforts on the exhilarating and inspiring New York City music scene. The tour included performances at the very famous CBGB’s Gallery, Piano’s Bar in the Lower East Side, the very popular Arlene’s Grocery and the Bitter End in Greenwich Village to name a few.
From this I gained exposure over the web through Podcast NYC (one of the largest podcasting related sites in the USA streaming a wide variety of audio and video content) who featured me on ‘The NY Minute Show’ and ‘Flow Music’ (www.podcastnyc.net). With my newly inspired sounds from NYC I came home to make my second solo record. Combining a rustic blend of acoustic blues, country tunes and feminine folk the six track EP ‘East 3rd Street’ was released in December 2006. The title track has been chosen to be included on the 2007 Kiss My WAMi Compilation.
